Grow eggheads

Easy-to-do growing experiments using damp cotton wool are the simplest way to start your kids on gardening activities. Try making these cute eggheads – and when the greenery is ready, add it to your egg sandwiches!

Number of players:

What you need:

  • 1 x rinsed out empty eggshell (with just the top of his noggin gently cut off)
  • 2 x googly craft eyes
  • cotton wool
  • watercress, kale, alfalfa, radish, or mustard seeds
  • textas or crayons
  • an egg cup to stand your egghead in

Start by giving your eggheads some personality. You can either draw on their faces or use some googly craft eyes.

Put cotton wool inside the empty eggshell. Dampen it with some water.

Sprinkle a generous amount of seeds onto the cotton wool.

Place your egghead on a sunny windowsill and give him some water each day.

After about a week he should have a full head of hair.
